MK WALKERS FC

Football but without running! Pass, move, receive, pass, move, how fast can you walk? A chance to score, can you still do it? Whatever your motivation you will find that walking football can be friendly, exciting and competitive. The manner in which the game is played promotes exercise and cardiovascular fitness whilst reducing the impact stress of running. Tackling is part of the game but for obvious reasons ‘slide-tackling’ is strictly not allowed. MK Walkers FC play each Thursday night, all year round, the artificial pitch at Woughton-On-The-Green leisure centre is outdoor and floodlit. Our club is open to anyone over the age of 35 for Women and over 50 for Men.

WHO ARE WE

We are MK Walkers FC, Milton Keynes first walking football club. We came into existence in February 2014 following an initiative by Make a Difference (MaD), an MK based charity who organised a back to sport programme involving walking football. Since then the club has grown from strength to strength with an ever evolving committee and players who support and encourage each other. Whatever your motivation you will find that walking football can be friendly, exciting and competitive. The manner in which the game is played promotes exercise and cardiovascular fitness whilst reducing the impact stress of running. Working to WFA rules minimal tackling is part of the game but for obvious reasons ‘slide-tackling’ is strictly not allowed.

MISSION STATEMENT

MK Walkers Football aims to encourage and promote the development of football within the community for the over 50's. The club will strive to provide an opportunity for players of both sexes to participate in football at all levels. The club will seek to compete at the highest possible level. Developing and promoting policy of equal opportunity where the best possible facilities are made available for all irrespective of race, age or gender. Encouraging sportsmanship and fair competition at the highest possible levels. We are committed to help improve players fitness and mental health. Develop team work and leadership skills. Help players people discover purpose and develop vision. Encourage respect for others. Develop a sense of fair play. Enable over 50's to socialise and make new friends.
